editor megan harrisHello, readers! It’s been a little while since I’ve updated my blog, and I hope to get back on track with updates on editing, writing, and topics for job hunters. However, for now, I’d like to provide a little update on some of my projects and other things going on with me.

Guest Posts

I haven’t had much time to pursue guest posts, but I recently wrote for the Live Write Thrive blog on the topic of critique partners. The conversation in the comments was really enjoyable, and I’m glad to have had the opportunity to write the post. Stay tuned – I may contribute to other blogs in the future, and I will share the blogs here and on social media when they are live.

Speaking Engagements

I’m excited to speak at WordCamp St. Louis 2015 on March 14th. at Washington University! I’ll be talking about using WordPress for content marketing. See the full list of speakers on the WordCamp St. Louis website.

Writing Projects

Right now, I’m writing regularly for Everything Finance. It’s been a great learning experience and allows me to exercise my research muscles. I recently wrote about health savings accounts and began a series on saving money in your 30’s, 40’s and beyond. Check out the site for topics on budgeting, savings, and more!

Editing/Proofreading Projects

I’ve been working on a few editing projects for authors, with more in the works. I’ve also taken on a little bit of proofreading, too, which can be just as intense as editing but in a different way. I’m really enjoying getting to know my clients and seeing their creativity. It’s inspiring to see their ideas and work to improve upon them so readers get the maximum enjoyment from their books.

Resume/Cover Letter Projects

While I provide these projects, sparingly, I’m excited that I recently helped a professional in the health/fitness industry retool her resume. She wanted a resume for health/fitness and another related to administrative work. Her current role provided a lot of experience in both of these areas, and so we were able to work together to improve the resumes to fit her goals.

That’s all I have for now. Thanks again for reading, and as always, please contact me if you are in need of my services!
